It Was All a Dream
The discipline hiding inside a good cup.
Sample cut — placeholder while the flagship film is in post.
Melanie King didn't know how to pull a good shot when she decided to open a coffee shop. What she had was a picture of the place — the light, the sound, the cup she wanted to put in someone's hand — and no real way to make it yet. Drip ’n Sip is what she built moving toward that picture, before the skill existed to earn it.
The craft came out of the work, not before it. She learned the grind by getting it wrong, dialed the machine in over months of shots poured down the sink, and built the standard one mistake at a time. The vision came first; the competence caught up to it. This is the first Parlance film.
